You will notice that I recognized the 20 F1.7 in an earlier post (highlighted above) but still think a lot of the love lay in the small size and general IQ. I never heard users wish for OIS on it but faster - and more silent - focus was often mentioned. So a faster, more weather resistant and sharper but still compact version might very well attract a lot of 20mm lovers; OIS on the other hand...

Yeah, I agree with you. I'm ok with short primes not having OIS since all my cameras have in-body stabilization, anyway. Just give me a fast and quiet focusing 20/1.7. If it's weather sealed then all the better.

are you guys saying that having IOS is going to get you more stops of stabilisation than IBIS alone ?

OIS, under DualIS, will provide more stabilization than just the in-body stabilization alone.   It might only be a half stop gain, though.

While I'm day-dreaming, I'd also like to see Panasonic implement the snap-focus feature that Ricoh has. Basically it allows you to set up zone focusing without having to rely on turning the lens ring plus you can access that mode simply by pressing the shutter release quickly, all the way down, without pausing at a half-press. This would nicely augment the GX's street photography qualities.

I don t think this is even technically possible on an interchangeable lens camera

I think it's technically possible.  You can already configure the camera to return to its last-used focus distance when turned on in manual focus mode.  Also, when you press the lens release button the focus jumps to its hyper focus distance.  So it's a question of whether the lenses communicate focus distance to the body and they probably do (helps with calculating flash exposure).  I think the bigger problem will be if that feature is patented by Ricoh/Pentax.
