Yes, when I had a X-T100 I had to configure the 2.5mm connection for a shutter release. After that it worked fine, and I wasn't using a Fuji shutter release either!

The menu item is described somewhere in the X-T100 manual, maybe in the video section.

I think you have to pick between shutter release and external mike.

I always had it set to use mechanical shutter so I don't know if electronic shutter works with the 2.5mm remote shutter release.
