Scrapyard - ELC Cooke Speed Pancro Lens 50mm f/2

I found this old film lens in a cup full of rainwater at the local recycling yard today.

I decided to take it along with some metal files, gas burner head, old pliers and a bit & brace drill.

Obviously it is in rather poor condition, it did however cost me effectively nothing and after doing a swift bit of research I see it has somewhat of a reputation (with modern versions being made too).

It clearly needs some careful cleaning; there appear to be cleaning marks in the coatings at the front and rear as well as some large flakes of something floating about inside. It doesn't seem to have fungus but there is some cloudy haze.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions regarding how best to approach this once it has dried out - fortunately it wasn't full of water inside!

I would really like to adapt it for use on my XT-2 in a non destructive manner if possible.

I don't have high hopes bearing in mind it's condition but it looks like a fun project...

Any advice would be much appreciated.
