I understand where you're coming from, but I have to admit that as a starting point, the 35mm (50mm equiv) is perfect. I'll give an example :

When I go on trips with friends, and happen to bring a camera and lenses, there's always one point at which I hand the camera to one of them for a more or less extended period of time (if you've never tried that - I highly recommend it, not only will it create great memories, but some of the pics turned out to be spectacular, even if shot by a newbie). The interesting part happens when I ask them what lens do they want, I almost always hear "the small one - in my case the 35".

Why? Well they are used to smartphones, so they don't want to lug around a huge lens, they're too familiar with the wide angle focal length, they really appreciate the authentic depth of field, and most are ultimately very accustomed with fixed focal length setups, since double and triple lens smartphones (with optical zoom) are quite a novelty. Now this could also apply with the 23 f/2 and 50 f/2, but I don't own them, so couldn't comment on that.

So in my mind, if any of them were to get a lens for a fuji camera, it would be the a small and light lens.
