lens notation: 50/1.4 vs. 1.4/50 vs. 1:1.4/50

If focal length divided by the fastest f-stop of a lens gives the physical size of its maximum aperture, why do some reviewers and manufacturers write the terms in a non-intuitive order, or with additional characters?

Lenstip example:

"In September 2018 they announced the launch of two new 1.4/28 and 1.4/40 models."

Leica example:

How is 1:1.4/50 any more communicative than writing 50/1.4?
