It's miles ahead of the M50....That Canon 15-45 isn't great.
All the Fuji lenses range from excellent to superb.
Thanks but can you tell me why the XT200 is miles ahead of the M50 , considering my requirements? can you please talk about specific points ? Does anyone in this forum have experience with the XA7? How is the autofocus/ user interface/general performance etc?
The Canon 15-45 isnt great but the Fuji 15-45 isn't great either. I tried the XT100 at a local camera store and it was difficult to operate the 15-45 lens. Also, the Fuji 15-45 felt much cheaper and worse build quality than the Canon 15-45. For the time being, I will be mainly using the kit lens. Also, as I mentioned in my previous post, Canon 11-22mm is a nice wide angle lens available in my budget but Fuji doesn't have anything in similar price range. Good Fuji lenses are much more expensive and way above my budget,.
The build quality Fujinon 15-45 isn't premium, and the power zoom is really annoying, but the lens really delivers optically. Can't speak about the Canon 15-45, I've never used one. Also regarding the Fujinon, dpreview says the XT200 will ship with a newer version of the 15-45, the same optically but "zoom/focus dials have been improved".
I own an Xt100, and will be buying the XT200 because, to me the Xt200 resolves the major shortcomings of the XT100:
Joystick, I have a really hard time not changing settings on the XT100, I have other cameras with a joystick, and it's something I much prefer.
Grip, the XT100 looks great but it feels like you're holding a bar of soap, I had to buy a add on grip for it, and I don't like add-on grips as the add unnecessary bulk.
Faster processing, I really don't have any problems with the speed of the XT100, I do have an issue with focus peaking with the XT100, I have some nice manual lenses and find focus peaking nearly unusable on the XT100, I assume this is related to the lack luster processor in the XT100, I can't confirm that focus peaking will be better on the XT200, but susspect it will be.
Even though I have the XT100, I'm looking forward to the new XT200, probably more so than I have to any other new camera, not because I hate the XT100, rather because I like the XT100 very much, but the camera does have a few quirks, and the update basically solves them all.
I suspect single shot IQ between the XT100 & XT200 will be indistinguishable, for me, it's about handling.
Champagne gold FTW.
