Need Advice on Shooting Video with either X-H1 or X-T30

Up until now I have really only shot still photography but I have become the designated videographer for one of my kids events and I need some help.

1) I can either shoot with the X-H1 and the 16-55mm F2.8 or the X-T30 with the 18-55mm lens.  My sense is the inbody stabilization of the X-H1 and the low light capabilities of the 16-55mm are the best combo?

2) Is fully automatic aperture, ISO, shutter speed, and focus with face detection the way to go?

3) are the built in microphones adequate for this kind of casual use?

4) What is the best/adequate combination of settings for 4K vs HD and FPS and bit rates?

5) Do I need to worry about things like F-Log?

Any other tips or tricks for this newbie?
