I don't know about weather in the Andes.

A weather sealed combination will be more expensive and heavier. If you don't carry a backpack already, you might look for a waterproof one. 25-30l packs go for about 30-50€ here. If you just have showers, you could just put your gear into the backpack.

I got a 12-100 this summer and a used GX8, both go as water resistant. But I woudn't rely on any extending lens not to let water in - and all standard lenses are extending, except the Olympus 12-50 with has often been rated as having soso IQ. Also, weather restistant does not mean water proof!

Older models like the Olympus EM5, the EM1 and GX8 are weather sealed and rather cheap used; I got the GX8 for 300€, the Olympus models are cheaper. With a 12-40 or 12-35 you will get near 1.000.-.

My experience with dust was better: while the Ricoh GR died of dust, my non sealed GX7 and lenses didn't suffer at all, though I was changing lenses a lot.
