As an owner of the original A7r, an A7iii, and an EOS R, I would pick the A7R2 over the RP, hands down. The sensor is head and shoulders above the RPs hand-me-down sensor from the 6D2.

But, you have to also think about what lens system you want to hold to, as well. It's not just about the body.

That said, if I had 2k, and those were my options, personally, I'd buy the A7R2, the 50mm 1.8, and a few manual something like the new Tamron 20mm or 24mm and keep the change to put towards a zoom later. Or maybe buy some extra spare batteries because the A7A2 batteries don't have a very long run time.

But, that's just me!
