24-70 f/4 s with extension tubes

Anybody doing this?

Maximum reproduction of the lens at 70mm = .30.

Minimum focus distance, 1 foot (5.5" working distance according to my ruler).

With 29mm worth of extension tubes, like the 11 + 18 AF Meike version available on Amazon for $40, I think we get to a maximum reproduction of .71.

But, I don't know what the new working distance would be.

Also, I assume that focus shift would work here because the Meike extension tubes support AF.  Anybody tried that?

I want to wait for the 105mm s micro lens, but it could be up to 2 years, so I'm looking for other options as far as close up photos goes (really trying to decide if I can sell my XT2 and 60mm macro).

Thanks!
