I see. You do not have to rely on comments, actually. Imaging Resource has actual sample images.

As you can see, it's not much of a contest. Whenever you can use high res mode, G9 will provide significant improvement in every aspect of image quality. It also makes shortcomings of the lens used quite obvious.

Note that recent firmware updates to G9 improved the High Res mode as well, although I don't know the exact details.
