Using PL 100-400mm for other than wildlife

Wildlife was my main reason for getting this lens, but I've found that it is a stellar lens for other subject matter.

While not my lens to choose specifically for landscapes, often while photographing near lakes, opportunities present themselves.

A local park/lake is also a wildlife habitat, mostly birds. A beautiful late winter view.

Summer sunrises are brilliant

When there is no wind, the still water is like a mirror

I have photographed this water fall on several occasions in the Sequoia National, Forest, California.

Water sports

I've also photographed kayak competitions where the zoom lens is handy

Sierra Lily

Pine forest violet

Carolina Bristle Mallow, using Nikon 6T Achromat, almost 1:1 here. With an Achromat the working distance is shortened to about 1 foot.

This has turned out to be one of the finest lenses I own.
