I use a film scanner, 5400 dpi will get you 33Mpixels. That's useful for noise reduction, then I downsize to half resolution, 7.8Mpixels, and that's about as much as there is.

But in doing that I do get to see the shake and shock, misfocus and lack of depth of field issues of 35mm photography that is hidden by the usual screen projection.

Definitely scanning my film makes me despair of my technique from those days. It reveals a multitude of sins that was not visible on a 6x4. I do have some good images from back then though.
