Scratching noise and a leopard
1

A few months ago I made a trip to Namibia and South Africa together with my excellent RX10M3, as evidenced by the attached photo of my new leopard friend taking his lunch. During the trip, I made some stretch of very, very dusty unpaved roads.

Now, I realized recently that rotating the ring on the lens to adjust focus manually produces an unpleasant "scratching" noise, certainly attributable to dust/very fine sand entered into the mechanism. This does not affect focusing, only makes an unpleasant "skreeeetch" noise.

In 99% of cases I use autofocus, so the use of the ring on the lens is very rare, but I would like - if it were not too complicated - to work on it and remove the damned dust from the gears ... on the other hand, I would not venture into too complex and risky operations.

Any wise suggestions on the matter?
