First outing with TC-E17ED

Got lucky recently and picked up a mint copy of this converter for $155. Published specs really did not prepare me for its size and weight when it arrived - what a beast! Makes the TC-E15 look positively petite.

This young lady posed quite nicely for me.

When prairie dogs venture out on the occasional sunny winter day they spook much easier than during the summer season. Getting closer wasn't happening thus a severe crop.

The North Platte river is mostly frozen over but the geese and friends can always be found gathered up at those locations where there is some open water.

Its going to take some practice to get good with the new TC as the camera/TC combo handle rather differently than when using the TC-E15. The added weight and magnification are felt when hiking about and shooting from field positions. Should be a fun learning experience.

Pleasant trails to ya.
