Keeping Viewfinder bright when underexposing (using flash)?

Hi, since I often need to use manual controls when using my X-T20's built in flash (otherwise it automatically sets to a higher ISO and Lower Shutter Speed than necessary), what happens is that the camera thinks I'm underexposing, causing the image in my viewfinder to become so dark that I'm unable to frame and focus my subject. Is it possible to keep the viewfinder bright, regardless whether my camera thinks I'm under/overexposing?

Also, any tips to get my Camera to more accurately set shutter speed/ISO when using the built in flash?

Thanks!
