Neither is a very good lens. You might be disappointed.

I will be a devil's advocate here: I am inclined to believe you will get better casual travel photos using a bridge camera like Sony RX10 and its variants. Weaker sensor but a much better lens with longer reach. Also has IOS.

What I am trying to say, is that you can trade sensor shortcomings for lens deficiencies. At least think about it.

Rx10 lens much better? Really? I find that very hard to believe. My 16-80 is pretty good, and my 18-135 is decent, though not as sharp as the 16-80. They may be weak compared to a decent prime or a red badge lens. I have not used the RX10, but have evaluated several copies of the rx100V. I find that lens weak. IMHO the 16-80 is much better than that lens.

Agree, the RX100 and its versions have a weak lens.

Yet many people claim it to be, many comments need to be taken with a grain of salt. A good number of the 16-80 comments were due to early issues Fuji had that got addressed and due to unrealistic expectations. Yes, they bungled the release, but that doesn't make it a bad lens.
