Hong Kong Protest with 16mm 1.4 (mostly 1:1)

I went out to shoot wide-angle today and was feeling super bored so I chose a random subway stop and walked out into an anti-Beijing protest! How fortunate

I shot these 3:2 but cropped down to 1:1 in post. I wanted to shoot 1:1 in the field but wasn't sure what might arise and didn't want to feel constrained suddenly. So kind of cheating this time.

I hope to be a photojournalist one day and the 24mm fov is my favorite as I have to get in everyone's way and challenge my anxiety by being a pest but it really speaks to me in terms of storytelling ability.
