Having trouble determining print quality

I was given a Canon Pixma Pro 100 for Christmas. I have very little experience with photography or none with printing photos but the family thought it was a good gift idea lol.

Anyway, my wife really enjoys old actors like Cary Grant and Humphrey Bogart. I thought I would print some photos of them for her, but I am unsure how to select images that will print well. I have heard that 300 PPI is what I want, which for an 8X10 would be 2400x3000. I did also read that 200 PPI (1600x2000) will still be pretty good quality. Is 200 PPI acceptable?

Also I noticed that two seemingly identical images can have drastically different resolutions. For example, when I googled Humphrey Bogart, these pictures came up.

The first one says it is 3600x3600 and the second says it is 1200x1200. How is this possible? Would there be a noticeable difference in the print quality?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!
