Sharpest aperture vs depth of field
2

Assume you're taking landscape photos and you want DOF. Let's say the sharpest aperture for Camera A (RX100 VI) is 5.6-8.0. (Diffraction warrants keeping aperture at f/8 or lower). Let's say Camera B (XT-30) can comfortably take shots at f/16 without significant diffraction. Does the fact that the XT-30 can provide sharp images at f/16 necessarily make it a better landscape camera able to produce sharper images with greater DOF than teh RX100 VI? Or would the Sony produce just as sharp an image, albeit just at a different (f/8) setting?

I understand  the XT-30 has a much larger sensor and thus affords other advantages, but my question stands especially as many report that the Rx100 has just as good an IQ for pics under a 12x16 print. Maybe my question should be does f/stop f/8 vs f/16 matter and provide any sharper DOF in pics under 12x16?

[I once posted a similar question earlier on different forum but suspect I asked it incorrectly as I still have this basic question. Thanks for any clarity you can provide!].
