Experiences with leveling bases for time-lapses?

I have a Syrp Genie Mini II, which can be programmed to rotate a certain range of view over a period of minutes to hours, so that you can produce moving time lapses, showing your POV rotating.

It's light and easy to carry around.

But often out in the field, you're setting up your tripod on uneven terrain, so you can level the initial position of the camera and the horizon looks straight.

However, even over a relatively small range of rotation, such as 30 degrees, of course the horizon will become askew.

Has anyone used a leveling base for this kind of application?  Often my Gitzo travel tripod will not be on level terrain.  So I need some way of keeping my ball head level through a range of rotation, even as the tripod legs are not on level terrain.
