Sirui tripod

I just broke my close to 40 year old Gitzo Reporter. In a stupid way too. Was making an improvement, or so I thought, and ending up jamming the mechanism in the center pillar. Bye old friend.

A new Gitzo is out - chocking prices! I think I've nailed it down to a reasonably priced Sirui. I don't want carbon. So that leaves two models. W-2004 seems to offer a quite a lot more than the N-1004SK (sealed against water and sand, comes with spike feet, can go a little higher and a little lower) for not much more money.

I've noticed Sirui is popular here, so I ask here instead of in the Accessories forum (may the dpr gods forgive me!).

Would you say that this tripod is steady enough for 300 mm on a mft?

Stupid thing, but does it have that spring loaded hook thing at the bottom of the center pillar that can be used for weighing down the tripod with a bag or something? It isn't mentioned in the description but the images at their site clearly show *something* there. Small thing, but I find it very useful. Especially since I I'll occasionally use the tripod with a bird spotting scope. I use used to hang a plastic bag with stones or something from the Gitzo without a hook, but a hook should make this much more handy.

The online shops just closed their phone lines here and the one with a special has just one in stock so I'm eager to hit the button. Which explains why I ask stupid questions here, I hope.
