BSI sensor

I would like to know why BSI sensors are better with old lenses.

I was thinking about replacing my Fuji X-T20 by a Fuji X-T3, in part for high ISO performance (no I.S....) but its newer, BSI sensor is not better in terms of image rendition at high ISO according to dpreview.

As I use my Fuji camera essentially with old lenses, if the BSI sensor performs a lot better, it would motivate me for an upgrade.
