It's not a wasteland for sure. Siberia is a very large territory, there are many climate zones. My hometown is located in the southwest of Siberia closer to Kazakhstan and Mongolia in Altai Region and we have normal summer with hot days up to +35°C.

Today was a normal winter day with temperature -15-20°C.

That's pretty chilly, but not extremely so. It gets down to that sometimes in my part of Colorado (Boulder), but not often. It's more usually between 0 and -10 C here in the winter, and sometimes gets up to the +10-15 range. Minnesota is a different story though. Winter days there can frequently be in the -30-40 range.

As the length of a thread approaches 150, the probability that someone will make the obvious "it's not the camera, it's the photographer" remark approaches 1.
