Among it makes things really simple when considering what system to buy into. If you are confronted with a bunch of mounts it’s easy to get frustrated and go with the simple option (like Sony is offering). This was something that I thought wasn’t so great about Nikon over the years. I didn’t enjoy having the complicated compatibility chart... I know it wasn’t that bad with Nikon but it wasn’t ideal.

Some people do get confused when putting APS-C lenses onto FF bodies or vice versa though I think that's worth it to have one mount. Figuring out the difference between FE and E can be confusing for some Sony users. At least between Canon's systems, if the lens doesn't mount, then you know right away and can return it, though then it wouldn't work at all if you can't return it.

Nikon was confusing when it came down to which lenses and bodies needed motors though I had a D600, which had an internal focusing motor, so I didn't need to worry about it.
