Hi!

During Christmas holidays I used the current Sony Winter Cashback promotions and bought an A7R4 together with the Sony FE 24 f1.4 GM. After the 200 EUR cash back I got (I assume) a very good price (1388 €) from a very established German photo dealership.

Congrats!

Now my question / problem:

When I switch on the camera (makes no difference on A7R4 or A6500) I hear a high frequent noise, not very loud but very hearable from 50cm distance. It is some kind of buzz (in German: "Surren" / "Rauschen"). A bit like if on a HiFi system you turn loudness to highest volume but do not play music, but a little bit different.

How does your Sony FE 24 f1.4 GM sound when switched on?

Is your sense completely quiet from a hearing distance of 30cm when switched on?

I would have assumed that it is completely quiet and maybe only hearable a bit when focus is acquired.

I have a bunch of other Sony lenses but non sounds like my 24 GM, so I'm questioning myself If I have a case for warranty.

Does the issue include vibration?
He noise goes away, or repeat every time you focus?

I have a similar problem on my 35f2.8. I had to send it for repair (out of warranty, it was not really nice)
