Image color consistency

Dear all

I have some trouble finding a consistent way of getting printed images looking like the monitor.

This is what i usually do:

1) calibrated laptop monitor using spyderx pro

2) softproof image using printer profile (in ly case Epson XP-900). As i don't find an icc profile for the my printer and the paper i use, Kodak Premium Gloss, i am using Epson Premium Glossy one delivered with the printer

3) in the print module for my softproofed image, i leave the color management to be controlled by the printer in preceptual mode.

Is my workflow correct ? What could be the cause of the printed image not looking exactly as on the monitor?

Another question i have is that i calibrated my desktop monitor as well, and the colors render differenty as on my laptop ? What can be the reason ?

Thank you for your feedback.

Ps: i'm a noob at printing
