No comment about the specific images you posted but talk about the lens on the X100 series cameras being soft is some of the most misleading information on these forums.

The lens is excellent and only produces slightly soft edges when being used for extremely closeup photography where no 23mm lens would be perfect all the way to the edges.

When used for what a 23mm lens is designed for, the X100 series lens is sharp as a tack whether it's set to 2.0 or any other aperture.

People who criticize the lens for being soft are usually just repeating what they've heard or read from uninformed people on these forums or they're people who look too close and expect too much (common on these forums).

I've owned two X100S cameras and bought the X100F when it first came out, taken hundreds of pictures, printed some at 8X10 or larger, and have never, even once, had anyone comment that the images were a little soft.
