No, that’s not always true. The A6000 was a hit from day 1 because of its features and performance, and because it was always a good deal. The A73 is in the same boat.

The A9 is priced quite a bit lower than the cameras it’s competing against.

Older gen bodies like the A7R2 can now be had at bargain prices.. and that camera still offers fantastic image quality and AF that probably stands up to Canon & Nikon’s R & Z mirrorless offerings. The A7R3 is a great deal too.

I can also think of a number of Sony lenses that are competitively priced.
