You see that perfect;y demonstrates the problem. You have never used the 35 f2 have you?

You rely on what you read etc. I have used both lenses. The 35 1.4 professionally for a bit until I sold it. I can tell you, as someone who has used both, there is so little difference except that I ready mentioned, to be irrelevant.

But I will state it again the only advantage is that one stop of light. Plus the better lens hood, but that is it.

No, it is a matter of fact. The 30 f/2 is corrected via software for distortion, while the 35 1.4 is better corrected optically. That is simply a fact. Now, whether that affects you and your photography depends on you. If you shoot jpeg, then you will never notice it. If you shoot raw, Lightroom will correct it automatically as well, but it still is corrected by software.

I like the 1.4 due to its lack of distortion. It works for my style of photography. They are both good lenses.

This "fact" has no bearing on what I said. You have read what you wanted to read and not what I said. You have excitedly regurgitated the same old, same old. I know it has distortion. I know it is corrected. Everyone does it seems you were the last to know.

Yes it does not affect my photography. I would not hugely in "any" meaningful way anyone else photography either.

If you have the 1.4 great, you use it. I use the f2 (now) and it is also great. There is very little difference between them, neither stands out.
