Thanks for the review! Except in good light, I have to admit I'm not too impressed with this lens actually; rendering is nice, but the AF seems unreliable when light levels drop, and close-ups seem a weak point. Can't compare to the 1.4 as I never owned that one. From what I've seen, both lenses can deliver outstanding images when used by the good photographer (Predictable of course, as the most important factor in getting a good picture is the person behind the viewfinder)

What I do find interesting (and very funny) on a more general level, is that people on this board can write up whatever kind of gear-praise (regardless whether it's substantiated in any manner) and get praise in return. But when writing a critical opinion, suddenly it should be "backed up with facts". I hadn't realized the difference between an opinion and a fact was that difficult to understand
