You see that perfect;y demonstrates the problem. You have never used the 35 f2 have you?

You rely on what you read etc. I have used both lenses. The 35 1.4 professionally for a bit until I sold it. I can tell you, as someone who has used both, there is so little difference except that I ready mentioned, to be irrelevant.

But I will state it again the only advantage is that one stop of light. Plus the better lens hood, but that is it.

I owned the f2 two times. Two times, because I wanted to love it, but both times I ended up selling it.

Distortion, interpolation and cropping are very important and real things which consern any professional photographer.

Another important and real thing is that modern cameras use full aperture for auto-focusing and the 1.4 allows camera to use a whole stop more light for focusing in low light conditions, regardless of the actual aperture setting. When I was using both lenses in low light (which I did a lot) I was getting about 30-40% more usable images from the 1.4 because the f2 would miss-focusing quite often. The f2 is not very usable in low light.

The F2 lens focuses circles around the 1.4, what are you talking about?!
