1. First image looks like the af is ok (and on the net) but just too far away to get razor sharp and needs better processing

See what you think of this image done in capture one instead of lightroom...

2. 2nd image isnt in acceptable focus and i can only put this down to your skill and the fuji AF...!.. ! ... The lens isnt the sharpest but that doesnt matter if it isnt in proper focus.

3. get closer, the nice portrait shots cant be compared to your distance action shots..

It's not Lightroom's fault. This is from Lightroom and looks nothing like the OP version. This one looks relatively sharp to me - weird color though, and noisy. Was there a filter on the lens, and was this with the electronic shutter?

So, in C1v12, I confirmed that the raw was shot in Provia. I'm sure that Provia digital is relatively faithful to the film version - but I never found the film version to be remotely close to realistic, so that might explain the very odd coloration.

This is processed with custom settings in C1, but it is somewhat similar to Classic Chrome, but less warm. It is just a best-guess of what the scene might have looked like based on the time of day, skin tones, and apparent sea coloration. I think the ball is in pretty darn good focus, and not relying on default values brings out the appropriate sharpness (IMHO).
