Re: What You Need to Charge the G7X iii or G5X iii by USB-C

Hi, the new Power Delivery (PD) USB C charging devices are a step up from the older USB technology we've used for years. It is confusing that not all USB C is "Power Delivery" rated. Look for the "PD" designation.
For battery charging in-camera, I bought the following devices on Amazon for my G5Xii, and they all work great with the camera. The portable charger listed below (aka "battery brick") allows charging on-the-go. Prices are December 2019.
Anker 120V Wall Charger for USB C Power Delivery (PD) ($23 on Amazon)

Anker Powerline USB C Cable (Power Delivery rated) ($12 on Amazon)

Anker PowerCore 10000 USB C PD Redux Portable Charger ($46 on Amazon)

The battery brick listed above would theoretically have the capacity to charge the Canon's NB-13L battery about 6 or 7 times.
I've not tried Anker's PD rated USB C car charger (cigarette lighter), but assume it works too.

You can also find conventional USB chargers for the G5Xii NB-13L battery, but I would expect they charge pretty slow compared to the USB C PD. However, I assume they'd be fine for use in overnight charging.
