Re: Adjustable Mechanical Cable Release Adapter for Digital Cameras

Vintage auto bellows that had the twin cable releases ask for a solution like that when a digital camera replaces the original camera. At least when there is a vintage auto lens at the front of that auto bellows. Reversed or normal.

With a native lens of the digital camera at the front of a vintage bellows the solution can be electronic. Five years ago I made a DIY solution for that: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/57104623

Meanwhile I saw a (better) commercial version.

A radio controlled solenoid on the auto bellows mechanism would be an ideal solution if it closes the aperture fast enough. I use Cactus radio releases for flashes and the camera and have to think about it. A stop gap solution is a cable release where the thumb key presses at the end of its stroke the radio release button .
