Re: Parabol light modifier

Would this be one of the least expensive ranges like Selens by any chance?

Parabolic in this instance seems simply to mean less light spread to the sides, not as precise as shining a beam of dazzling light out of the modifier.

So you get a softbox with less light 'spill'.

If you're after versatility, make sure you get one with an eggcrate/honeycomb attachment and a diffuser available. Then you basically have a softbox that can give you fairly specular light, or a diffused light, and as a well defined beam of light that doesn't spread out . I wouldn't be surprised if the honeycomb grid does at least as much as the parabolic shape for limiting light spill.

I tend to think bigger is better but don't really want to carry it or put up a 120cm softbox... I do have lazy large pop-up umbrellas
