I really wanted to consider Fuji. The camera prices weren't bad, but add a lens or second lens and holy cow! Nikon (I'm a huge fan, btw) had nothing at all in the price range.

So I pushed the button on an EOS M6 two-lens kit for $499 with "last minute savings" pricing at B&H. Looked like a good deal.

I also liked the M100 but it cost more and lacked a lot of features.

Is there a catch? The M6 an ok camera, I assume?

No catch. The M6 is an excellent camera. These great deals are because it's been replaced by the M6II. The M100 has the same sensor, and will have the same IQ when used with the same lens. But the M6 is a much better all-around camera, because of all the added features.

As the length of a thread approaches 150, the probability that someone will make the obvious "it's not the camera, it's the photographer" remark approaches 1.
