DXO Photolab 3 all the way. It's worth it for the unparalleled Lens correction and the Clearview Plus filter just can't be matched by anything else. Easy to use , super adjustable, great noise removal, and the Viewpoint perspective correction is so good. I also have Lightroom, but it is positively clunky and dull by comparison.

As for clearview are you comparing to LR version 9? DXO. No DAM, no temporary stack to tell me what I've done. LR is not clunky at all because I set it up following optimization recommendations and do a little simple maintenance. It wasn't bad before but it flies with my new iMac. No hesitation with brushes, etc.

If you are running it on old hardware then yes. No different than for example Topaz's VRAM requirements to run their AI stuff. Older machines don't often have it.

I have a 2015 MacBook Pro with 16gb of RAM, it's from Mid 2015...makes me think LR may be slow. I'm going to start my free trial on Christmas to run some family photos through the new LR vs On1 vs DXO to see what they're all like.

When I travel I run LR classic, PS, DXO PL and Canon's DPP on the cheapest Macbook Air I could find. I don't like only it due to screen size and while it is no rocket ship it holds it's own. No crashes, no endless spinning ball, etc.

I follow this carefully.
