After the Rain - with the 15 and 36

After many months without a drop of water, December has finally brought some rain to California.

Sometimes I like to grab a couple of primes and see what happens. This time I hiked with the 15/1.7 and the 36/1.3 - which really is a Canon 50/1.8 on a focal reducer.

Dirt is washed off the leaves which turn from muddy grey back to their pretty colors.

The little focal-reduced Canon lens provides a bit of subject separation for this Manzanita shrub. Even wide open the IQ is decent, at least in the center.

A variety of lichens, freshly rinsed, pleases with subtle colors.

Until recently a muddy puddle-muddle, the reservoir is now full again. Frogs rejoice. 80 HR Megapixels are rarely needed, but hey, why not, maybe I want to make it a poster one day.

Subject separation at f1.3. Easy to add a bit of additional graduated blur in post processing, which I have not done here.

Pretty spot, I am fortunate to live close by. In Summer, it is hot, dusty and overrun with humans. Now not so much and more enjoyable.

"Dead Tree Project". Happy to report that the tree is actually alive. It's an old Juniper with just a little bit of growth left.

Same tree from a different angle. Pretty happy with the result. The camera does what I want it to do.

Thank you for watching. Critique is appreciated, but please don't re-quote my OP with all images, it clutters up threads.
