Does this mean that the S1 and S1R program, and the Panasonic-Leica-Sigma alliance, both of which showed great promise, are now dead ends?

An alliance that showed great promise but seems to be fading each day with every new release from them.
Seems Sigma was right in just dipping its toes in the system and leaving the bulk of the money making to Sony, Nikon and Canon.
