Re: Nikkon E 100 2.8

I've got a couple that kcdogger gave me because he couldn't get them to work. It looks like the helicoid on both of them is so stiff that the grip starts spinning before the barrel does, unless I really hold tight on the grip.

I admit I'm not fond of the build quality, but I do want to try to fix at least one of them. Is the helicoid grease a common problem on the lens? I did find a take-apart at https://richardhaw.com/2017/08/05/repair-nikon-100mm-f2-8e/ , but it doesn't mention any known problems with the original lubricants, just to avoid oil-based grease when repairing.

The OM Zuiko 100/2.8 is probably my favorite 100, with the Hexanon 100 a very close second; I think I like the IQ better on the Hexanon, but the Zuiko is smaller and lighter, and I like the mechanical feel a little better. The Nikon E has them both beat for weight, but can't tell the IQ until it's fixed, and the situation both of them were in doesn't exactly give me faith in their mechanical design.
