disclaimer - I haven't tested this thoroughly ...

... but through casual observations after using the built-in flash on the M50 it seems that using physically longer lenses often results in a shadow in the photo.  I'm pretty sure it's happened with me when using the 11-22, 18-55, and 18-150 but I didn't notice what focal lengths to avoid.   The 22 pancake should work without problems but using a flash attached to the hot shoe would likely be advisable when using larger (longer) lenses.
