Bought a "New" x-pro 2 but the serial number shows it is 3 years old

First, apologies for cross posting but I'm new to the forum and I think this is probably the better place for this.

I've just been and bought a fuji x-pro 2 body and lens kit. I got a good deal on it from a reputable store in Barcelona. In addition I'll get cashback from fujifilm so it ends up being a really good deal. It looks to be in perfect condition as you would expect.

But here's the rub. I looked at the serial number and it was built in the first quarter on 2017 which is way older than I was expecting, even allowing for the fact that they've just released the x-pro 3.

It's doubtful I can do much about it at this stage, I don't think the law here in Spain gives you much in the way of rights for returning equipment that you buy in store.  But it could be worth kicking up a fuss.

I guess what I would really appreciate some guidance on is whether I should be concerned.  Is it unusual that it is so old when it was sold as "new"?  Could the camera be inferior any any way?

Thanks in advance for any help.  I understand the sentiment of some would be just enjoy it and stop fretting.  However this was quite an extravagant gift to myself and I can't help feel that I've been had which takes the shine off things.
