Can anyone share their Settings for shooting Christmas Lights outside of homes. Will NIght Landscapes in scene mode do the trick?

1. Blue hour photos are much more appealing and somewhat easier.

2. You may need to bracketing multiple exposures (-3,0,+3) to avoid overexposing your highlights. These images we done on my old 5DII. On my D850 I could probably just do one photo and underexpose by 2-3 stops to protect highlights and raise my shadows.

3. Select interesting angles - low, diagonal, etc.

4. Avoid cars parked in close proximity

5. Tripod is important for #2 above.

6. Camera settings will vary - try for lowest ISO possible. Blinking/changing lights will sometimes necessitate a higher shutter. Mid aperture should do F8-ish.
