Venus Laowa 25mm F2.8 2.5-5X Ultra Macro, Brief Test

After first attempts I wanted to know more about this lens. My tests are not technically perfect - the biggest challenge is to set up the optical axis exactly at a 90 degree angle. The slightest deviation leads to edge blur. My ball head is not the best equipment for this. Since the lens is completely manual, there is no focus indicator and the aperture has to be adjusted on the lens. This can lead to slight shifts in the optical axis.
In some images, blur zones are more likely to be caused by this than by the lens. Focusing with a Focus Rail is not a problem.
By the way, my subject is a piece of German history: the stamp comes from a postcard sent on 14 November 1923 with a franking of 5 billion Reichsmarks!
In separate threads are examples of my tests:
1) Magnification 2.5x, aperture 2.8 / 5.6 / 8 / 16
2) Magnification 3.5x, aperture 2.8 / 5.6 / 8 / 16
3) Magnification 5x, aperture 2.8 / 5.6 / 8 / 16Brief conclusion:
- suitable equipment is mandatory
- at a magnification of 2.5x there are no problems
- Aperture 5.6 and 8 give the best results
- aperture 16 shows blurriness
