Motorized, programmable pan-tilt head for large format panorama?

Found this article on large format panos very interesting, but the amount of work made me thinking if automation would be possible?

Obviously it is possible in the basic setup with a gigapan like panorama robot, but there is a twist: I want star tracking with my iOptron startracker and the robots I've seen (e.g. gigapan) are huge and heavy, they'd consume more than half of the little mount's payload!

Any suggestions for an automated panorama head that doesn't weigh more than 6-800g and sturdy enough for a z6+Sigma ART 135 (=2kg/4lbs)? It helps a lot of the batteries are not integrated into the head...
