New Win10 PC, initial setup, connecting old monitor

I have a new Win10 Pro desktop PC to set up, my first experience with Win10. This desktop is at one end of my desk with my current 10-year-old desktop at the other end and my 7-year-old DVI\SVGA monitor in between them with the old keyboard and mouse.

My plan is to use a DVI switch to connect everything together so I can switch back and forth between desktops as I get the new one up and running, install software, and transfer over my data.

This DVI KVM switch setup works fine with my old DVI desktop.

The new PC has only a DisplayPort and two HDMI inputs on the video card. So I have a DVI to HDMI adapter cable into which I will put the DVI cable from the KVM switch and then I will put the HDMI end of the adapter cable into the video card on the new desktop.

Should I be concerned about using this arrangement for connecting the new desktop to the monitor during my initial and subsequent set up of the new WIN10 desktop?

Thoughts?

Thanks!
