DSLR with WiFi/wireless photo syncing

Hi All,

It's been a while since I've been taking photos with my DSLR (Nikon D5000) , and recently I've noticed that no matter how happy I am with the photos taken with my Google Pixel 2XL, even the entry level D5000 was so much better...

I've realised the real reason I've stopped taking pictures with DSLR was the convenience of just taking a good-enough photo with a mobile phone, that is automatically being transferred to Google Photos in the background, without me having to look for a card reader, or the cable, and then uploading it all with Lightroom....

Since it's been a while since then, and I can see more and more DSLRs have WiFi modules, is there any functionality that makes it now easier / less time consuming to transfer the photos to my PC? Hopefully, without a need to connect any cables, or use card readers?

If so, what would you recommend?

Nikon D5000
