Difference in light transmission between Pana 12-35 2.8 and Oly 12-40 2.8

Maybe this does not concern the average user, but in deciding which one to buy of these two lenses, I recently discovered on DXO that the Pana is T=3.0 while the Oly has a T=3.3 value for maximum light transmission.

This is probably due to the Oly using more and fatter glass which can eat out some of the light.

This may be not such an important consideration for most users, but in my case where we shoot lots of low light video in concert halls and churches, this gives the Pana a slight edge.

The Oly of course gives a little bit more reach and might be a tad sharper at some settings.

It's a pity that other tests never include the real transmission figures of lenses, particularly now that DXO has virtually abandoned real cameras and lenses.
