I am still learning to shoot birds but captured this amazing bird:

The 75-300 can be quite sharp but I am sure the hit rate is much lower (w/o tripod) than the 100-400 or 300. When I select Auto ISO which is necessary for many bird situations, the SS on the EM-1 II is set at 1/250, which is a bit slow for handholding with this lens. The best shots with the 75-300 are considerably sharper than this but it is hit and miss despite my efforts to be as still as possible.

I think I will buy the 100-400 before December 28th but am reluctant to buy it without testing that particular copy. Also, it is not a lens I would carry hiking....
